Precautions for Using Pneumatic Grinders

To ensure the correct operation of a pneumatic grinder, it is essential to understand the necessary precautions. Below are the key safety guidelines for using a pneumatic grinder:

1. Before use, carefully inspect the protective guard and auxiliary handle to ensure they are intact and secure.

2. Before installing the grinding disc, check for signs of moisture damage or chipped edges. Ensure the disc is mounted securely; never strike the clamping nut with improvised tools-always use the designated specialized tool.

3. Before connecting the power, ensure the grinder's switch is in the "off" position.

4. The power outlet used must be equipped with a residual current device (RCD/earth leakage circuit breaker), and the power cord should be inspected for any damage.

5. Operators must wear safety goggles and a dust mask; work is prohibited if proper protective gear is not used.

6. Before use, run the grinder briefly to check that the disc is spinning smoothly and normally; proceed with regular operation only after confirming everything is in order.

7. During operation, never direct the grinding or cutting path toward nearby personnel or flammable/explosive materials to prevent injury or accidents. Keep the work area clean and tidy.

8. Clamp the workpiece securely before starting. The ideal angle between the disc and the workpiece is approximately 30 to 40 degrees. When cutting, avoid excessive pressure, tilting, or wobbling; adjust cutting force according to the material. Keep the cutting disc parallel to the cut line; do not apply lateral pressure or tilt the tool while cutting.

9. Do not use excessive force; apply pressure slowly and evenly to prevent the disc from shattering. If the disc becomes jammed, lift the grinder immediately to avoid burning out the motor or creating safety hazards caused by disc breakage.

10. Never use a grinder without a safety guard. Do not use a grinder if the guard is loose and cannot be tightened; have it repaired promptly by qualified personnel. Operators must not dismantle the guard themselves.

11. If the grinder has been operating for an extended period and the machine body temperature exceeds 50°C-feeling hot to the touch-stop the machine immediately and allow it to cool down naturally before further use.

12. When replacing the grinding wheel, you must turn off the power or disconnect the power cord; ensure the power is cut off before proceeding with the replacement. Always use the designated tools for assembly and disassembly; striking or hammering the unit is strictly prohibited.

13. Periodically inspect the drive components-such as bearings and gears-to ensure they are in good, smooth working order. Apply lubricant to rotating parts at appropriate intervals to extend the service life of the grinder.
